I probably couldn't get an order in on time to get one if I wanted to, but has anyone heard about the condition of the 1903s that cmp is selling?  I guess they haven't even processed all of the orders yet.  A high serial for $500.

These are VFW and such returns, and may have very corroded bores due to lack of cleaning after firing corrosive blanks in ceramonies. On the other hand some guys report getting nice bores, so basically its a roll the dice proposition. I did it several years ago when the M1917 VFW returns were $350. I got a very nice Winchester on the outside, but the bore was very rough. I still would have kept it but financial strife in 2005 to 2006 forced its sale anyway.
